MP Haneefa Jan Tours Pashkum Constituency; Assures Early Redressal of Public Grievances

KARGIL, Oct 31: Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan, today undertook an extensive tour of Pashkum Constituency along with Executive Councillor (Rural Development), Kacho Mohd Feroz and district officers from various departments to review developmental works and listen to public grievances.
At Pasbuchay, villagers raised several demands including the filling of vacant teacher posts, installation of an electricity transformer within a week, establishment of a PHE submersible power connection, a medical aid centre, completion of JJM headworks, and appointment of an ASHA worker, among others. The MP assured that all issues would be redressed at the earliest and directed departments to resolve them within their jurisdiction or escalate them to the competent authority.
At Karith, the MP visited PM Shri Middle School Karith Shargole, inspected classrooms, the library, and the computer lab. He appreciated the efforts of the school administration and staff, and the villagers requested a multi-purpose hall, top roofing for the school, Rangbar Khul, graveyard ground (from MPLADS funds), ICDS centre, and a reservoir tank to tackle drought conditions. The MP assured that the multi-purpose hall will be taken up through the Rural Engineering Wing, and other demands will be addressed on a priority basis. EC Feroz lauded the Education Department and the school team for their dedicated work.
At Tacha, the delegation visited High School and Higher Secondary School, Allopathic Centre, Ice Hockey Rink, and Handloom Centre, where local residents raised issues regarding tiling and infrastructure gaps. The EC assured that road connectivity would be explored under PMGSY, and the Ice Hockey Rink would be included in upcoming development plans.
At Kukstay, the EC instructed the concerned department to carry out electric pole shifting and made recommendations for the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Hostel and a playground. The MP directed the preparation of a DPR for graveyard fencing.
At Skamboo, the team addressed demands for repairing the water reservoir, electric poles, street lights, goat sheds, irrigation khuls, playfield, and school development. The EC assured early provision of a new transformer and directed officers to take early departmental action.
Concluding the visit at Pashkum, villagers raised issues concerning road connectivity, irrigation khuls, stadium, approach road, and CSR benefits. The MP assured that all feasible works would be taken up through departmental and council level coordination to ensure holistic development during his tenure.
