22 killed, 12 injured in store explosion in Mexico’s Hermosillo
MOSCOW, Nov 2: An explosion at a store in the Mexican city of Hermosillo has left 22 people dead, including four children, and 12 others injured, according to reports by the Universal newspaper.
The explosion occurred at one of the outlets of the Waldo’s retail chain, after which the building caught fire, the report said.
Those injured reportedly sustained severe burn injuries, while rescue teams and firefighters promptly arrived at the scene to contain the blaze and assist victims.
Preliminary information suggests that the blast may have been triggered by a car parked near the store, though the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
