India Women vs South Africa Women: New toss timing, match timing and reserve day rules for the Women's World Cup final

India and South Africa are eyeing their first-ever World Cup title as they go face-to-face in the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday (November 2). Both sides have taken contrasting routes to the summit clash but the key is that they are now just one shot away from making history.

The weather forecast, however, isn't the greatest for match day and rain has already delayed the toss of this summit clash. The good part is that there is a reserve day expected but it isn't that straightforward for both teams to deal with.

Reserve day rules

The cut-off time for a 20-overs-a-side match to begin is 9.09 pm IST and hence, there will not be a decision made until this time period at least. If the match starts by this exact time, we shall have both sides playing what is effectively going to be a T20 match but with ODI rules.

There are two extra hours allotted to make up for overs lost but from 5 pm onwards, there will be overs lost and that would mean a shortened game for sure. Every four minutes means an over lost technically. What if the play starts at, say 5.30 pm, and then there is an interruption again? Well, the delay will continue and there will be a new cut-off time to get the overs in.

Priority on getting the result

Remember, the match officials will want to get a result on November 2 as much as possible. Only if the weather conditions don't permit at all, we shall see the match shifted to November 3.

New toss timing and match start details

At the time of filing this report, the new toss timing is 4.30 pm IST with the match expected to start at 5 pm IST. Importantly, no overs lost yet.
