YAIKS committed to reconnect community to its roots: Bhat

JAMMU, Nov 4: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) president, R. K. Bhat who is spearheading the employment package of KPs emphasized that employment opportunities within J&K for displaced KP youth are not only to ensure survival but also to reconnect the community to its roots, culture, and social, and religious fabric.
Addressing a function organised by his organisation here in connection with celebration of 1000th weekly meeting, he said YAIKS is committed to continue its struggle till every Kashmiri Pandit family gets its share. “More than 25 thousand KP employees have retired during the displacement of 36 years and we are asking Government to fill up these vacancies by the community members only who are out of their homes and hearths for the last 36 years”.
He demanded an additional 15,000 jobs under the PM’s package, 2-3% reservation for displaced persons from Kashmir in Central Government departments, and educational institutions. The YAIKS president expressed high hopes that the Modi-led Government would address their genuine issues without further delay.
Bhat said this remarkable tradition of weekly meetings, spanning over 20 years, has served as a platform for socio-political discussions, leadership development, and nurturing future activists within the community.
During the programme the gathering acknowledged his tireless efforts in securing employment opportunities for the thousands of the youth of the community. They said YAIKS is the real voice of voiceless people and we wholeheartedly support it in all its activities for the larger interests of the community.
The gathering gave full credit to YAIKS leadership for the recent verdict of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), paving the way for the absorption of 1500 unemployed youth under the PM’s package.
The YAIKS Advisors D N Sadhu, Naresh Raina, T N Ganjoo, Tej Krishan Tickoo, vice presidents – Sanjay Ganjoo, Manoj Handoo, general secretary – Bal Krishan Bhat, general secretary (Org) – Sanjeev Koul were present on the dais along with R K Bhat.
The welcome address was delivered by Sanjay Raina and vote of thanks was given by Ashwani Kak while the stage was managed by the Working Committee head, Vimal Raina.
