Himachal Minister Anirudh Singh announces development initiatives for Kasumpti village

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh attended the traditional Pati Fair at Tud village under the Kasumpti Assembly Constituency on Tuesday as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he said such fairs play a vital role in preserving and nurturing the state’s rich cultural and civilisational heritage.

Announcing new developmental initiatives for the area, he said the local road will soon be metalled and urged residents to expedite the execution of gift deeds for the required land. He also announced that a new Panchayat Bhawan has been proposed for Tud village. The Forest Rights Act (FRA) approval for the project is expected within the next two weeks, after which the tender process will begin by March 2026, with construction likely to be completed by December 2026.

The minister said traditional fairs are not only a source of entertainment but also reflect the customs, folk arts and craftsmanship that define Himachal’s identity. “The display of local arts, handicrafts and indigenous products at these fairs help sustain our cultural roots,” he said.
