'Dies Irae' Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 6: After Mohanlal, son Pranav scores hat-trick in Rs 50 crore club

Pranav Mohanlal starrer Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has crossed Rs 50 crore in six days. With this, Pranav has bagged three Rs 50 crore movies in a row, reports Manorama Online.

His previous movies, Hridayam and Varshangalkku Shesham, has also raked in Rs 50 crore. Both movies were directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan.

Only Pranav's father Mohanlal has three back-to-back Rs 50 crore movies in Mollywood before the son joined him. Mohanlal too clinched the hat-trick Rs 50 crore record earlier this year through Empuraan, Thudarum and Hridayapoorvam.

In domestic net collection, Dies Irae has minted Rs 23.03 crore in six days, according to Sacnilk. Dies Irae amassed Rs 4.7 crore on its first day. The highest collections were recorded during the weekend with the movie raking in Rs 5.7 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.35 crore on Sunday.

On Monday, the figures began to decline, with the collection recorded at Rs 3 crore while it bagged Rs 2.61 crore on Tuesday. Early estimates put the daily earnings at 0.67 crore on Wednesday till 5 pm, reported Sacnilk.

Dies Irae is produced by Night Shift Studios and Y Not Studios. It comes with the tagline, The Day of Wrath, which is the translation of the Latin phrase, 'Dies Irae'. The title is taken from a Latim hymn that describes the Last Judgment.

Rahul Sadasivan, who has proved his mettle through Bhoothakaalam and Bhramayugam, has once again come up with a thrilling horror movie with Dies Irae. Pranav too enthrals audience with his career-best performance in the movie.
