Who is Anunay Sood? Dubai-based influencer dies at 32; last post goes viral

Renowned Dubai-based influencer and photographer Anunay Sood passed away at the age of 32, as per a joint statement issued on Thursday by his family and friends.

However, the reason for Sood's death is not confirmed.

"We kindly ask for your understanding and privacy as we navigate this difficult time. We humbly request you to avoid gathering crowd near personal property," the statement said.

The news came as a shock to the beloved content creator's fans, as he was seen having a great time at a sportscar exhibition in Las Vegas.

"Still can’t believe I spent the weekend surrounded by legends and dream machines," Sood said in his last post posted two days ago, which has since gone viral again, after his death. The post has since garnered over 70,000 likes.

Sood leaves behind not just friends and family, but also a tribe of 14 lakh followers on Instagram, in addition to 3.84 lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel.

With over 2,000 posts on Instagram and over 1,000 videos on his YouTube channel, the travel influencer was featured on Forbes India's Top 100 Digital Stars list multiple times from 2022-24.

According to Forbes, Anunay Sood began his journey as a photographer in Dubai who started out by documenting his travels on Instagram. He also ran a marketing firm, it said.

His Instagram bio also indicates he was involved in a number of businesses, such as a Manali resort called The Ghar, marketing firm Meta Social, and holiday home booking site NestBnB.

"Was really hoping this wasn’t true. Rest in Peace," a fan wrote under the Instagram post announcing his demise.

"You will me missed and your vlogs and your vision will be missed, I wish this was not true," another fan commented on the same Instagram post.

"It’s hard to believe ... heartfelt condolences from Pakistan," a third fan said.
