Inter-District UT Level U-19 Boys Athletic meet concludes

JAMMU, Nov 7: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, concluded the Inter-District UT Level Athletic meet for Under-19 Boys at the Synthetic Turf, University Ground Jammu. Around 150 young athletes from various districts across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir participated with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
The events were conducted smoothly by a team of departmental experts including Nirmal Singh, Harsimran Singh, Chamel Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Hardev Singh, Amolak Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Parveen Kour, and Ravinder Singh, along with other technical officials.
In the 1500m race, Karan Sharma from District Rajouri secured first place, followed by Hareesh Singh from Kathua and Sunil Kumar from Jammu. The 800m race was won by Nazakat Hussain from Poonch, while Vishal Singh from Kathua and Mohd Yasir from Budgam stood second and third respectively. In the 200m sprint, Akhil Bharti from Jammu clinched first position, with Arun Singh from Kathua second and Basit from Ganderbal third.
In High Jump, Dilawar from Budgam took the top spot, followed by Danish Manzoor from Kupwara and Firdous Ahmed from Bandipora. The Shot Put event saw Sohail Ahmed Khan from Kupwara emerge as the winner, while Mohd Rashid from Kathua and Yuvraj Singh from Reasi claimed second and third places respectively.
The 4×400m relay was dominated by the District Poonch team comprising Waqar, Sarfraz, Ifraz and Nazakat, while District Jammu (Aryan, Sushant, Sundeep, Rajveer) finished second and District Kathua (Vishal, Harish, Rajesh, Mohd Rashid) secured third place. In the Javelin Throw, Parvesh Singh from Kathua won first place, followed by Raja Ram from Jammu and Adil Ahmed Rather from Budgam.
