Jason Sanjay's directorial debut titled 'Sigma', Sundeep Kishan reveals poster

We have known for a while that Tamil superstar-turned-politician Vijay's son Jason Sanjay is gearing up for his directorial debut. On Monday, the project's lead star Sundeep Kishan and production house Lyca Productions revealed the title: Sigma

The first-look poster shows the actor sitting atop a pile of money with a bandaged hand, suggesting an action-thriller with a possible heist element.

In an official statement to IANS, Jason Sanjay said, “The title and concept capture the fearless, independent spirit of a ‘sigma’, an outlier who follows his own path, undeterred by societal norms. With elements of treasure hunts, heists, and comedy, the film promises an adrenaline-fueled cinematic journey. Thaman’s electrifying score, Sundeep Kishan’s dynamic action hero presence, and Lyca Productions’ signature grand production values elevate the experience.I am blessed to work with the best professionals in their respective crafts, and without their support, completing the schedule on time would not have been possible. With just one song left, we will move to post-production and aim for an early summer release.”

Krishnan Vasant, who worked on Rashmika Mandanna-starrer The Girlfriend, is handling the photography. S. Thaman is on board as composer. Praveen KL, known for his work in Maanaadu, is handling editing duties.

Sundeep Kishan became a household name with his appearances in Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram. He has also worked on Hindi projects, such as with Raj & DK in Shor in the City and the Prime Video series The Family Man.

Meanwhile, Vijay's Jana Nayagan is gearing up for release in January 2026. The film's Tamil Nadu theatrical rights have been reportedly sold for an all-time record price. It is directed by H Vinoth. The recent unfortunate events at Vijay's TVK party rally in Karur have caused temporary confusion about the film's release date.

However, no change in date has been announced so far. If everything goes well, the film will make the Pongal 2026 release date as planned.

Touted as a political action thriller, Jana Nayagan also features Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Bobby Deol in lead roles, with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani also part of the cast.

It is bankrolled by KVN Productions, the same company co-producing the upcoming Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups.
