The world figure whose secret diplomacy helped mend Zelenskyy-Trump relations after White House fallout

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed the world figure who helped him restore his relations with US President Donald Trump after the public fallout during his first visit in February.
The Ukrainian President credited King Charles for playing “a crucial behind-the-scenes role” in encouraging Trump to support Ukraine more enthusiastically, after the public spat which saw Zelenskyy being kicked out of the White House. “I don’t know all the details, but I understand His Majesty sent some important signals to President Trump,” Zelenskyy told The Guardian, about the meeting King Charles had with Trump during the latter’s state visit to the UK in September.
He said Trump respected the king and considered him to be “very important,” which the President thought was a genuine compliment, as it did not extend to “many people”.
“His Majesty is very sensitive to our people. May be sensitive is not the right word. He’s very supportive,” Ukraine’s president said about King Charles.
Trump has been very vocal about his likeness for the King, even suggesting an interesting nickname for Charles. ”I asked King Charles, Why don’t we call you Charles the Conqueror? He said no. I don’t think so. But he’s a great guy, and he’s doing a great job, an unbelievable job,” he said during the state visit. Trump also said he planned to invite King Charles and Camilla to the United States next year.
He had also violated royal protocol several times, patting on the King’s back.
Trump didn’t throw the map
In the interview, Zelenskyy also addressed media reports that Trump threw away the map of Ukraine while dismissing the possibility of a counterattack, during the second meeting in White House in October. "He didn't throw anything away. I'm sure of it," Zelensky. The Ukrainian president also described his relationship with the White House leader as " normal," "businesslike," and "constructive."
Earlier, there were reports that Trump rejected maps of the front lines in Ukraine and insisted that Zelensky hand over the entire Donetsk region to Putin. People familiar with the matter told the publication that the meeting repeatedly degenerated into "arguments," during which the US president " cursed constantly."
