Dharmendra health update: Veteran Bollywood star in ventilator support after condition deteriorates

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra is admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital due to age-related complications, Hindi media reports said. The 89-year-old's condition remains critical, and the actor has been placed on ventilator support due to breathing difficulties, they added.

Dharmendra has been in the ICU for the past several days due to respiratory issues and his condition worsened today morning, ABP Live said in a report. Many family members have reached the hospital in the hope of visiting him the report added.

 

The development comes a week after he went to the hospital for a medical check-up, sparking concerns about his health. However, his wife Hema Malini had said that he was alright, Hindustan Times said in a report. Dharmendra also underwent eye surgery in April -- a cornea transplant.

 

He was last seen in Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor's film "Teri Baatein Mein Aisa Ulza Jiya." He will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan directorial "21" opposite Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda.
