JU defeats Shivaji University Kolhapur by 146 runs

JAMMU, Nov 10: The University of Jammu continued its remarkable form at All India Vice-Chancellors’ T-20 Cricket Tournament being held at LUVAS, Hisar, Haryana by defeating Shivaji University, Kolhapur by an impressive margin of 146 runs.
Batting first, University of Jammu posted a commanding total of 241 runs for the loss of just two wickets in 20 overs. Shantul Raina showcased exceptional form by scoring his second consecutive century, a blazing 117 runs, while Vishal Sudan contributed a solid 56 runs. Rajesh and Aman Singh Sambyal added 33 and 24 not out respectively, steering the team to a formidable score. For Shivaji University, Anil Patil and Vishant claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Shivaji University could manage only 95 runs for eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Vinayak Shinde (18) and Yogesh Dalvi (16) were the main contributors with the bat. The University of Jammu’s bowling attack remained disciplined and effective, with Raj Kumar Bakshi (2 for 16), Rajesh (2 for 3) and Niranjan Singh (2 for 27) leading the charge. Balwant and Shantul chipped in with a wicket each. For his outstanding century and all-round performance, Shantul Raina was declared Man of the Match.
