Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Bhutan, asserted on Tuesday that none of the conspirators behind the blast near Delhi’s Red Fort will be spared.
Speaking at an event in Thimphu, Modi said the investigating agencies will get to the bottom of the conspiracy, and all those responsible for this attack will be brought to justice.
"Today, I come here with a very heavy heart. The horrific incident that took place in Delhi yesterday evening has deeply saddened everyone. I understand the grief of the affected families. The entire nation stands with them today,” the prime minister said.
“I was in touch with all the agencies investigating this incident throughout last night. Our agencies will get to the bottom of this conspiracy. The conspirators behind this will not be spared. All those responsible will be brought to justice,” he added.
Twelve people were killed and over 20 others were injured as a high-intensity blast ripped through a slow-moving car at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening.
Police and central agencies are investigating the incident as a suicide attack and are examining its suspected links to the Faridabad-based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police had recently arrested eight people and seized nearly 2,953 kg of explosives (ammonia nitrate) from Faridabad.
Dr Umar Mohammed, a Pulwama-based doctor who had been untraceable since police busted the terror module, is suspected to be behind the Delhi car explosion.
