Man ends life by consuming poisonous substance

JAMMU, Nov 11: A 58-year-old individual died after he reportedly consumed some suspicious poisonous substance at his home in Bishnah area here today, officials said.
Early morning, one Swarn Lal son of Thoru Ram of Banachak, Bishnah, was admitted to SDH Bishnah after he ingested some unknown poisonous material at his home under the suspicious circumstances, a police official said.
Later, he said, Lal was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where he breathed his last around 12:17 PM today.
While the body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination, police have initiated inquest proceedings to further probe into the matter.
