US Secretary Marco Rubio Backs India, Calls Delhi Blast a Terror Attack; ATS Raids in Kanpur
The United States has officially reacted to the recent Delhi blast, with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio describing it as a “clear act of terrorism.” In his statement, Rubio praised Indian investigative agencies for their “highly professional and efficient” handling of the case, adding that India does not require any external assistance at this stage. The US, he said, stands in solidarity with India in its fight against terrorism. Meanwhile, the investigation into the Delhi car blast has expanded beyond the capital. The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has detained a doctor from Kanpur, based on leads obtained from Dr. Shaheen’s brother, Parvez, who is already under scrutiny. Preliminary findings indicate that the detained doctor had links with multiple suspects, including Shaheen, and had traveled to Jammu and Kashmir recently. His mobile call records and chat data reportedly reveal suspicious communications around the time of the blast. ATS officials disclosed that the swift operation prevented the suspect from fleeing the city on Wednesday evening. Further interrogation is underway to uncover possible links with the broader terror network associated with Dr. Umar and the Red Fort blast conspiracy.
