Rinku, officials check site for Nurmahal ROB
With the efforts of former MP and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Rinku, a 50-year-old problem for the people of Phillaur and Nurmahal is about to end.
While serving as an MP, Rinku had approved the construction of a railway over-bridge (ROB) on the Nurmahal Road from Phillaur. Now, the work has gained momentum. Rinku visited Phillaur on Friday with a team of engineers and officials from the NHAI, Railways and PWD, and urged the early start of construction of the ROB.
Rinku stated that the railway crossing on Nurmahal Road in Phillaur is troubling the residents of Nurmahal and other areas. As the Delhi-Amritsar route is the main rail route, approximately 150 trains pass through the area daily, leaving the crossing closed most of the time. Rinku said that discussions have been held again with the departments and ministries and after site inspection by the officials, construction of this railway over-bridge would begin soon.
Rinku stated that people have been facing this problem for approximately 50 years, and that it would be resolved in the coming months. Railway SSE, Phagwara, Sujit Kumar, Chief of Road Safety HS Sandhu, Vikas Kumar of Railways, Ludhiana, XEN of PWD Davinder Pal, SDO Navdeep, HOD (Structure) of LM Malviya Infra Company Ltd, Raj Kishore Prajapati, and others were present.
