Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland's roles in Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' CONFIRMED? Here is what you need to know

With just seven months ahead of 'The Odyssey', Christopher Nolan's follow up to 'Oppenheimer' and perhaps his grandest film yet, fans are eager for each and every titbit they can get about the 2026 film.

While it is already known that Matt Damon would be playing the main character, Odysseus, the latest updates from the film, revealed in set photos released as a part of an Empire interview, finally confirm Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, and Mia Goth's roles.

These four actors are just the tip of the iceberg. The film's ensemble cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Cosmo Jarvis, Himesh Patel, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Corey Hawkins, and Ryan Hurst.

According to the set photos released on X, Anne Hathaway will be playing the role of Penelope, Odysseus' wife and the Queen of Ithaca. This was speculated earlier this year.

The set photos also confirm rumours that Tom Holland will be playing Telemachus, Odysseus' son.

The rumours turned out to be wrong in the case of Mia Goth (known for films like 'Frankenstein', 'Suspiria', and 'Nymphomaniac').

She was speculated to play Circe, a powerful sorceress living on an island filled with men once turned into animals, or Calypso, a nymph who holds Odysseus captive. However, the Anne Hathaway set photo shows her in the background too, playing Melantho, a maid in Penelope's palace.

Universal Pictures' 'The Odyssey', touted as the first film shot entirely using IMAX cameras, is set to make history, with Matt Damon saying inthe interview that the film was "exactly what you want of a summer movie", and also called it the "best experience" of his career.

The Homeric epic is set to hit the big screen in India on July 17, 2026.
