NFR’s Railway Protection Force Continues Crackdown on Smuggling Across the Region
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continues to demonstrate its commitment towards ensuring the safety and security of railway passengers and property. During the month of October 2025, the RPF/NFR apprehended 37 persons involved in the smuggling of narcotics items and contraband goods valued at approximately Rs. 9,40,79,933/-.
Recently, on 13.11.2025, the RPF of New Coochbehar recovered 37.1 kgs of unclaimed Ganja worth Rs. 3.71 lakhs at New Coochbehar Railway Station. The recovered items were handed over to OC/GRP/ New Coochbehar for necessary action.
On the same day, joint efforts by RPF & GRP of Agartala & Lumding recovered 23.61 Kgs of Ganja worth Rs. 2.36 lakhs at Agartala and Lumding Railway Station. The recovered items were handed over to respective OC/GRP for necessary action.
Similarly, on 12.11.2025 RPF of Dharmanagar, Agartala & Rangapara North recovered 50.51 Kgs of Ganja worth Rs. 5.05 lakhs at Dharmanagar, Agartala and Rangapara North. The recovered items were handed over to respective OC/GRP for necessary action.
Northeast Frontier Railway commends the dedicated efforts of RPF personnel across various posts and their effective coordination with GRP and Customs authorities, ensuring the safety of railway premises and curbing illegal activities within its jurisdiction.
