Manoj Bajpayee locked himself in washroom to avoid meeting Bollywood’s Big B and asked, ‘Can I hug you…’
On the set of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, the actor Manoj Bajpayee shared a moment when he had to meet the Big B of Bollywood, i.e., Amitabh Bachchan. Bajpayee said that this incident dates back almost 28 years, to the screening of ‘Satya’. In the latest episode of the show KBC, he is seen recalling the fanboy moment with Amitabh Bachchan.
Manoj Bajpayee’s first meeting with Amitabh Bachchan
Manoj Bajpayee recalled the incident when he met Big B for the first time. He stated that a popular journalist from the film industry persuaded him outside his car while locking it from inside. This left Bajpayee with no other option but to meet Amitabh Bachchan. However, the perplexed state of Bajpayee pushed him to run to the nearby washroom, which he locked from inside.
Manoj Bajpayee remained inside the washroom until he thought that Amitabh Bachchan had left. Relaxedly, he came out to see the big Bollywood personality.
Bajpayee’s reaction after seeing Big B
Manoj Bajpayee went ahead and explained the encounter vividly, mentioning, “This tall figure was right in front of me. Time just stopped. I couldn’t hear anything. The man who had inspired me since my fifth grade was standing there, holding my hand and talking to me, and I had just gone deaf.”
He further stated that out of perplexity, he asked, “Sir, can I… may I hug you?”, which Bachchan agreed to.
