Advocates protest in District Court

Advocates of the District Court staged a protest against the decision to shift of traffic challan settlement from the traditional courtroom process to an online-only system.

Speaking on the occasion, advocate Puneet Chhabra said as per rules, challans pending for more than three months should automatically be transferred to the court, but this mechanism had not been functioning properly, leading to widespread difficulties.

Other advocates, who participated in the protest include Karan Khullar, Dheeraj and Nikhil Thapar.

Chhabra said, “We protested peacefully only to ensure that the system works for everyone, not against them. We will not stay silent when a faulty process causes hardship to people.”
