According to the agency, the District Magistrate stated that the purpose of the biometric system is to ensure regular teacher attendance and increase transparency. He stated that the implementation of this system will ensure that teachers perform their duties on time and there are no attendance irregularities.

The Aligarh district administration also clarified that this biometric attendance system will apply to all government and registered madrasas. Teachers will now use biometric machines to mark their attendance, which may include fingerprint or ID card-based logins.

Officials say this move will make it easier for the administration to monitor teachers’ attendance and work. Responding to a question, the District Magistrate stated that the process of identifying illegal madrasas in the district is currently on hold. Officials did not specify when inspections of unregistered madrasas would resume.
