Missing Child Rescued by Ticket Checking Staff of Train No. 12619 – Matsyagandha Express
Konkan Railway once again demonstrated its strong commitment to passenger safety and social responsibility through its alertness and timely intervention.
On 20/11/2025, Pradeep Z. Shrike, Head Ticket Examiner (Hd. TE), reported that a 14-year-old boy was found travelling without a ticket in the General Coach of Train No. 12619 – Matsyagandha Express. During routine checking, Shrike observed that the child was travelling alone in school uniform with a school bag. On interacting with him, he learned that the boy had run away from home. Recognising the gravity of the situation, he immediately informed the Commercial Control staff and requested RPF assistance at Ratnagiri Station.
Responding promptly, the RPF team at Ratnagiri attended the case and took the boy into safe custody for appropriate handover. It was subsequently learned that the child had been missing from his school in Vasco, and his parents had widely circulated information seeking help in tracing him.
Due to the alertness, vigilance and timely action of the frontline Ticket Checking staff, along with the coordinated efforts of Commercial Control and the RPF, the missing child was safely reunited with his parents.
