Delhi Work From Home: Due to severe air pollution (AQI 400+) in Delhi, GRAP-3 is in effect. The government has directed 50% of employees to work from home. Vehicle monitoring has been increased at borders.
Work From Home: The toxic air in Delhi has made life difficult. The AQI consistently remains above 400, meaning the pollution level is in the extremely severe category. Rekha Gupta, the government may take a major decision to provide relief to people amid the rising air pollution in Delhi. Following the advice of the Air Quality Management Commission, 50 percent of government employees in Delhi may be instructed to work from home.
Indeed, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has stated that GRAP-3 is in effect in Delhi amid the pollution. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has provided new information. This is Phase 2 of GRAP-3, which also includes some provisions of GRAP-4. Under this, 50 percent of employees will be required to work from home.
In addition, all vehicles entering Delhi are being monitored at the border. Water is being sprayed in areas with high levels of dust and pollution.
What is CAQM’s decision?
Currently, GRAP-3 has been implemented in Delhi. It includes several restrictions. This GRAP-3 is now being tightened. Phase 2 of GRAP-3 is being implemented. It advises state and central government employees in Delhi and NCR to work from home. Consequently, the governments may take a decision on this soon.
In addition to government employees, this rule could also be applicable to private employees. However, for now, the Commission’s advice is for government employees.
How will work be done after the WFH system is implemented?
In fact, whenever the government implements WFH, or work from home, offices operate with half the manpower. Suppose an office has 100 employees, then after the rule is implemented, only 50 will come to the office. The remaining 50 will have to remain connected from home.
Now, the government decides how this system will be implemented. Whether it’s a weekly rule or an odd-even rule, meaning half the employees come to the office one day, work from home the next day, and then come back to the office the third day.
