Chirag Paswan’s 'Bihar Is Calling Me' Remark Sparks Buzz Ahead Of Polls, Here's What BJP Said

Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s recent remark where he said “Bihar is calling me” has ignited fresh political discussions in the state, months ahead of the crucial assembly elections scheduled for later this year. According to reports, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief expressed his growing interest in state politics during a recent interaction with media persons in Bihar. In contrast to his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, who was largely focused on central politics, Chirag Paswan indicated a shift in priority.

“I feel that Bihar is calling me. My late father was interested in the Centre’s politics… but I have interest in the politics of the state,” the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries reportedly said, as per news agency PTI.

His statement, coming in the run-up to the Bihar assembly elections, has drawn attention as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) — of which Chirag Paswan’s party is a constituent — is likely to contest under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who heads the Janata Dal (United).

LJP (Ram Vilas), BJP Welcome Chirag Paswan’s Remark

Reacting to Paswan’s comment, LJP (Ram Vilas) leaders reiterated their support for his vision. Raju Tiwari, the party’s Bihar chief, told PTI, “Chirag Ji always says that he will realise the dreams of our late leader and work for ‘Bihar first, Bihari first’ to change Bihar. Bihar always remains his top priority. All party workers welcome this statement of our leader.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Rajesh Bhatt, Chief Spokesperson of LJP (Ram Vilas), told PTI, “By making this statement, Chirag Ji has once again shown his commitment towards working for the welfare of the people of Bihar. Bihar always remains his top priority… We welcome this statement of Chirag Ji.”

Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an NDA ally, also welcomed Paswan’s remarks. Bihar BJP spokesperson Prabhakar Mishra remarked, “We all welcome this statement of Chirag Ji. He (Chirag) is popularly known as ‘Hanuman’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji. His entry in Bihar politics will certainly strengthen the NDA vote bank in the coming polls.”

The Union Minister’s statement has further fuelled speculation about his political roadmap, as Bihar gears up for a high-stakes electoral contest later this year.
