Vaibhav Suryavanshi rewrote all these records on Monday as he made Rajasthan Royals' chase of 210 against Gujarat Titans look easy at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

By the time a Prasidh Krishna yorker finished brought curtains to his historic innings, 14-year-old Vaibhav had managed eleven sixes and seven fours en route to his 38-ball 101. There was a standing ovation as he made his way back to the dugout after having stitched a 166-run stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal who remained unbeaten on 70 from 40 balls.
The young Rajasthan Royals opener became the youngest player to score a half-century in the Indian Premier League when he crossed the landmark in just 17 balls against Gujarat Titans. Later, he smashed the second-fastest ton ever in the tournament, blasting a six off Rashid Khan. The Afghan all-rounder was GT's stand-in skipper for the second innings in the absence of Shubman Gill.
Playing only his third IPL match, Suryavanshi grabbed 28 runs from Ishant Sharma in the powerplay before getting 21 off the next from Washington Sundar. Ishant Sharma, Gujarat Titans' impact sub was shocked as his first over went 6-6-4-0-6-WD-WD-4. Gujarat Titans star Rahul Tewatia came running to shake hands with the youngster, clearly impressed with his craft.
However, it was Karim Janat who had the worst as the teenager punished him for 30 runs in an over. Playing his first IPL game ever, Janat was hammered for three sixes and three fours by Vaibhav to enter the nineties.
His 35-ball century is now the second-fastest ton in the history of the tournament. He replaced Yusuf Pathan's record of having reached the three-digit mark in 37 balls in 2010 the the fastest by an Indian batter ever in the IPL. Interestingly, Pathan also scored the ton donning the RR jersey. Chris Gayle's 30-ball hundred for RCB against Pune in 2013 remains the fastest IPL hundred ever.
