Relief For Government Employees As Madhya Pradesh Cabinet Approves DA Hike Of 3%

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The state Cabinet on Tuesday decided to increase government employees' dearness allowance (DA). Consequently, the total expenditure burden on the state government, including the arrears, is estimated to be Rs 3,500 crore.

The DA of employees receiving the 7th Pay Commission scale will be increased by 3% from July 1, 2024, taking it to 53%, and by another 2% from January 1, 2025, raising the total to 55%. 

The Finance Department has also been authorised to increase the DA on a proportionate basis for government employees under the 6th Pay Commission, as well as those working on deputation in Corporations and Boards under the 5th and the 4th Pay Commissions.

The arrears from July 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025, will be paid in five instalments from June to October this year. The Cabinet has also consented to the March 12 letter of the Chhattisgarh government, approving 53% pension relief under the 7th Pay Commission and 246% pension relief under the 6th Pay Commission to pensioners/family pensioners of the state government from March 1, 2025.

Solar Parkokayed

The Cabinet has approved the setting up of a 2,000 MW solar park and a 1,000 MW composite energy storage. This would supply electricity on a complementary basis to both MP and Uttar Pradesh, as their peak demands occur at different times.

When UP requires more power (Kharif months), the demand is low in MP and vice versa during the Rabi months. The project will provide power to each state for six months annually.

Committee for implementation of UPS 

For the implementation of the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for government employees appointed on or after January 1, 2005, the Cabinet has constituted a committee.

Additional Chief Secretary Ashok Barnwal will be the Chairman of the committee, while Principal Secretary Manish Rastogi, Secretary Lokesh Kumar Jatav, Budget Director Tanvi Sundriyal, and Deputy Secretary Ajay Katesaria will be its members. MP Pension Director J.K. Sharma hasbeen made the Member Secretary.
