DA Hike: After the central government recently increased the dearness allowance of its employees by 2% to 55%, the employees of Madhya Pradesh were also hoping that when they would get dearness allowance equal to the center, now their wait is over, in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, today approval was given to increase the dearness allowance, the amount of which will soon reach the accounts of the employees in the form of arrears.

The Modi government of the Center had recently announced a 2% increase in the dearness allowance of central employees and dearness relief of pensioners, after which DA has increased from 53% to 55% from January 2025, similarly DA also increased. After this decision of the central government, seven and a half lakh officers and employees of Madhya Pradesh were waiting for the dearness allowance increase, which was completed today.

Government decided to increase DA by 5 percent

In the cabinet meeting held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, it was decided to increase the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief payable to the government servants and pensioners / family pensioners of the state government on Tuesday. After the approval of dearness allowance and dearness relief, the total expenditure burden on the state government including the arrears amount is estimated to be Rs 3500 crore.

Understand the math of 55% like this

In the cabinet meeting, the state government has decided to increase the dearness allowance of government servants receiving the seventh pay scale by 3 percent from July 1, 2024, taking the total to 53 percent and by 2 percent from January 1, 2025, taking the total to 55 percent.

Responsibility of employees with sixth pay scale on Finance Department

The Finance Department has been authorized to increase the dearness allowance on a proportionate basis to the personnel of the sixth pay scale and the personnel under the fifth and fourth pay scale working in the state government on deputation in the state government of Corporation / Board / Undertaking.

Arrears will be paid in five installments

The arrears amount from July 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025 will be paid in five installments from June 2025 to October 2025. First installment payment will be made in June, 2025, second installment payment in July, 2025, third installment payment in August, 2025, fourth installment payment in September, 2025, fifth installment payment in October, 2025.

They will get lump sum amount of arrears

It was decided to make lump sum payment of arrears to them/nominated member in respect of retired/deceased government servants during the period from 1st January, 2024 to 30th September, 2024. It was decided to give consent to the letter of Chhattisgarh Government dated 12th March, 2025 approving 53 percent pension relief under the 7th Pay Commission and 246 percent pension relief under the 6th Pay Commission to the pensioners/family pensioners of the state government from 1st March, 2025.
