Modi plans big move against Pakistan, days after Pahalgam terror attack revamps NSA board to…, former RAW chief to…

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government revamped the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) on Wednesday and appointed Alok Joshi, a former Chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) as the head of the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Six more members have also been inducted into the board.

Earlier today, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, held a second meeting today since the Pahalgam terror attack. The CCS in the first meeting took several steps aimed against Pakistan that included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.

The meeting comes as the aftermath of Pahalgam terror attack which claimed at least 26 lives.

PM Modi on Tuesday told the top defence brass that the armed forces have “complete operational freedom” to decide on the mode, targets and timing of India’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack, government sources said.

During a high-level meeting, which was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and the chiefs of three services, Modi affirmed that it is the national resolve to deal a crushing blow to terrorism, they said.

Modi has vowed to pursue the terrorists behind the attack and their patrons, a clear reference to Pakistan which has a history of sponsoring terror strikes in India, to the “ends of earth” and inflict the harshest punishment on them “beyond their imagination”.
