Parth Samthaan To QUIT CID 2 After Shivaji Satam Aka ACP Pradyuman's Return?
Actor Parth Samthaan, who joined CID 2 as ACP Ayushmaan after ACP Pradyuman's death in an explosion caused by Barbosa, will reportedly quit the show. Parth took over the role previously portrayed by Shivaji Satam, but recent reports indicate that he will be leaving following Shivaji’s return to the series in a new episode.
According to a report by Money Control, CID 2's TRPs have been negatively affected due to increased competition from events like IPL 2025, which also streams on Netflix. The show has been struggling to maintain its high TRP ratings amidst this fierce competition. Thus, the makers decided to bring Shivaji back to CID 2.
Talking about Parth's exit, a source close to the show told Filmibeat, "The rumours of Parth leaving might be false. The channel has to understand that the easy availability of CID 2 online and competition from IPL 2025 have severely affected the viewership of the show. Just Shivaji Satam's exit was a promotional gimmick; we have to wait for some time to know the clear picture."
Parth Samthaan is yet to react to the rumours.
Earlier, Parth revealed that he initially rejected the role of ACP Pradyuman as he couldn't relate to it, but after the makers urged him to reconsider, he eventually decided to come on board. "I was also hesitant due to the show’s long-standing cast and the fact that they’d have to address me as 'sir' on screen. It felt a bit unusual and awkward," he added.
Parth, who was last seen in Kasautii Zindagii Kay Season 2 alongside Erica Fernandes, opened up about his television comeback after five years, revealing that he was waiting for the right opportunity. Although he received a few offers during the break, he shared that most of them were similar romantic roles, which he wanted to avoid.
"When this show was offered to me, I decided to take on the challenge,” he shared.
