Attention Thanekars! TMC Announces 24-Hour Water Cut In Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada & Other Areas From May 2 To 3
Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a scheduled 24-hour water cut in various parts of the city due to maintenance work by the STEM Authority. The water supply will be completely shut from 9:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, to 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3. The announcement was made via an X post on April 30.
Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC)The STEM Authority, which provides water to Thane city, will temporarily stop the supply during this time. In response, TMC has planned a phased distribution system using its own reserves to ensure limited water access and avoid a complete shutdown across all areas. However, many regions will still experience a full 24-hour water cut.
An X post shared by the Thane Municipal Corporation provided details about water distribution on Friday and Saturday morning. The TMC announced a scheduled water cut during this period to carry out essential maintenance work and to minimise inconvenience to residents. The post included the names of the affected areas and the timings of the water cut.
Affected Areas By Watercut:
Areas that will be affected include Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Balkum, Brahmand, Pawar Nagar, Kothari Compound, Dongripada, and Waghbil. Additionally, water supply will also be unavailable in Samata Nagar, Ritu Park, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson, Jail, Saket, Uthalsar, Retibandar, Kalwa, and parts of Mumbra during the same period.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the outage. TMC has also appealed for public cooperation during the maintenance activity and assured that normal water supply will resume post 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. This planned shutdown is part of the ongoing efforts to improve the city's water distribution system and maintain infrastructure.
