India-Pakistan war: Masood Azhar terror camp, Lashkar HQ, Hafiz Saeed secret hideout, and army chief Asim Munir’s…: India could hit THESE five key targets first

India-Pakistan war: The barbaric Pahalgam terror attack has exponentially increased the grim possibility of a full-scale India-Pakistan war, as New Delhi would aim to demolish the terror infrastructure inside the neighboring country once and for all. Let us take a look at five key targets India would likely strike if an India-Pakistan war breaks out:

Pakistan Army HQ in Islamabad

General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s hardline Army Chief, has been linked to several deadly terror attacks inside India, including the 2019 Pulwama attack that killed 40 CRPF personnel in Kashmir. Munir headed the ISI– Pakistan’s notorious spy agency– at the time.

The Pakistan Army Chief, who has held the top post since 2022, accused of promoting terror activities in India, and allegedly supports banned terror groups like the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Additionally, his venomous speech at a recent convention in Islamabad, where he termed Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein” and spewed anti-India rhetoric, has been linked to the Pahalgam terror attack.

The Pakistan Army headquarters, the center of Pakistan’s military strategy and operations, are located in Rawalpindi, and in the eventuality of an India-Pakistan war, this location is likely to be among the high-priority targets for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Notably, several reports have claimed that General Asim Munir has gone into hiding since the Pahalgam incident, but Pakistan attempted to dismiss these “rumors” by releasing the Army Chief’s pictures on April 26.

Hafiz Saeed ‘secret’ hideout and Lashkar HQ

Radical cleric Hafiz Saeed, the notorious founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group, is one of the most wanted terrorists in India as he is believed to be the mastermind of the several deadly terror attack, including the 2008 Mumbai attack. Hafiz Saeed, who is designated as a global terrorist by the United Nations, is rarely seen in public and its believed to reside in a secret hideout in Lahore, which was discovered recently.

According to experts, Saeed’s Lahore hideout and the headquarters of his Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group, which is believed to be in Muridke in Pakistan’s Punjab province, will be on India’s hit list if military action is initiated against Pakistan.

Notably, the The Resistance Front (TRF), believed to be an offshoot of the LeT, had initially claimed the responsibility for Pahalgam terror attack, before backtracking from its earlier statement.

Terror launch pads in PoK

As per latest reports, there are at least 17 training camps and 37 launch pads that are currently active in Pakistan- occupied Kashmir (PoK). These launch pads and training camps, which are managed and operated by LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and other terror groups, are used to plot and launch terror attacks inside the Indian territory, especially in the Jammu and Kashmir region, and will be among priority targets for India in a potential conflict with Pakistan.

According to reports, a majority these terror launch pads are located in Rawalkot and Kotli regions in PoK, which are considered breeding grounds for terror groups.

ISI headquarters in Islamabad

The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan’s notorious spy agency, is known for its support of various terror groups that it uses to wage a proxy war against India. New Delhi has often accused the ISI of providing military training and financial support to banned terrorist organizations like Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammed, and considers the spy agency as the primary financier and promoter of terror acts in India.

In an India-Pakistan war scenario, the ISI headquarters in Islamabad will likely be among the top targets for India, experts believe.

Masood Azhar and Jaish-e-Mohammed training camps

Masood Azhar, a UN-designated global terrorist, accused of masterminding the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, and other terror acts inside the Indian territory, is the chief of banned terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

Azhar, who is one of the most wanted terrorists in India for his alleged role in orchestrating and plotting terror acts, run training camps in PoK and Bahawalpur in Punjab province, and its believed that these locations will be among primary targets for the Indian Army in the eventuality of an India-Pakistan war.
