LPG Price 1 May 2025: On May 1, the commercial cylinder in Kolkata has now become Rs 1851.50 instead of Rs 1868.50. In Delhi, a 19 kg LPG cylinder will now be available for Rs 1747.5. In Chennai, it will be available for Rs 1906.50 instead of Rs 1921.50.
LPG Price 1 May 2025: Indian Oil has updated the rates of LPG gas. At the same time, today 19 kg commercial cylinders have become cheaper. The rate of commercial cylinder has been reduced by up to Rs 17. Today, on May 1, the same commercial cylinder in Kolkata has now become Rs 1851.50 instead of Rs 1868.50. The price of this cylinder in Mumbai has now become Rs 1699 instead of Rs 1713.50 and in Chennai it has become Rs 1906.50 instead of Rs 1921.50. It will now be available in Delhi for Rs 1747.50. Today, on May 1, 2025, domestic LPG cylinders will be available in Delhi for Rs 853, in Kolkata for Rs 879, in Mumbai for Rs 852.50 and in Chennai for Rs 868.50.
Domestic LPG gas rates were updated on April 8. Then the government had increased the price of 14.2 kg LPG cylinder by ₹ 50. This increase happened after almost a year. On April 1, there was a change in the price of commercial LPG cylinder. In Delhi, the 19 kg LPG cylinder became cheaper by Rs 41 and now costs Rs 1762 and today on May 1, the rate has been reduced.
LPG cylinder is available ₹300 cheaper
There are a total of 32.9 crore LPG connections in the country. Of these, 10.33 crore are under the Ujjwala scheme, where the poor get cylinders for ₹300 less. Due to already running state schemes in the southern states (like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh), only 10% are beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme here.
Subsidy status: In the budget for 2025-26, the government has kept ₹11,100 crore for LPG subsidy. Last year (2022-23), ₹22,000 crore was given to the oil companies because they were selling cylinders at a loss.
