'Ladko Ko Kyu Nahi Roka?: Nainital Cop Slaps Female Tourist From Delhi, Throws Her Phone During Heated Argument At Checkpost; Video Viral
A Delhi-based female tourist biker was slapped and issued insulting remarks during her trip to Nainital, Uttarakhand. The woman was stopped at a 'random' or allegedly unauthorised checkpost in the hilly terrain and asked to show her vehicle documents, following which the cop hit her. Despite wearing a helmet and producing necessary papers on the uniformed policeman, she was beaten in front of her friends.
The incident was reported online from the Ramgarh area of the tourist destination. The helmet-clad lady recorded the cop's unacceptable behaviour on camera and since the video has gone viral and sparked discussions on social media.
In the video, the female biker suggested that the cop named Gulab Singh Kambhoj and his team member Jitendra Yadav targeted women during their checking procedure. She pointed out that Kambhoj let go of a few men who wore similar model of helmets, but restricted her claiming her helmet was unfit.

Woman claims she wore helmet
She raised voice against the policeman's biased approach during his duty and said, "Helmet tha? Toh kya dikkat hai? (We wore helmets? So what's the problem?)". The cop tried pulling an excuse to question and harass them, by saying, "Peeche wale ne helmet pehna tha? (Did the pillion rider wear helmet?)". The woman replied and clarified both riders wore helmets are were riding safely, noting that there was no valid point to stop or interrogate them.
"Ladko ko kyu nahi roka?"
Meanwhile, the woman revealed in her video that the cop allowed two male bikers to pass through without any questioning.
"Abhi 2 ladke gaye same aisa helmet pehenke. Ladko ko kyu nahi roka", the woman and her other female friend, both behind the camera, asked him. The policeman had no answer, but to allegedly grab her phone and throw it off.
Did he accept his fault and allow the Delhi woman to continue? No. He instead slapped her openly on public streets, escalating the issue.
Also, at the end the video, the cop was dramatically heard saying, "Yaha aisi baat kar rahe ho, ghar mein karte honge apne (If you behave like this here, imagine how you behave at your homes)".
Slapped...face swollen
"My friend who was with me was hurt. Half of her face is swollen", her accompanying friend posted on social media.
As the video of Gulab Singh Yadav surfaced online, netizens demanded action against him. The incident sparked outrage on social media.
Police responds
Nainital Police addressed the now-viral video and assured netizens of necessary action. In an X post, the police team mentioned the woman was riding a two-wheeler without number plate.
"A two-wheeler without number plate was stopped during checking by outpost in-charge Gulab Kamboj. The vehicle did not have registration documents and the person sitting behind was not wearing a helmet (translated)", Nainital Police posted on X.
However, in contrast, the visuals clearly showed a woman wearing helmet and claiming that both riders wore it.
