Pahalgam terror attack: NIA reaches Baisaran Valley, new revelations point to larger conspiracy

In a significant development, it's been revealed that the terrorists had conducted reconnaissance (recce) in several areas before choosing Baisaran Valley as their target. Among the other spots they scouted were Aru Valley and an amusement park. However, due to heightened security at Aru and the lower footfall at the amusement park, they shifted their focus to Baisaran. On April 22, the terrorists carried out the attack by opening fire in Baisaran Valley.The investigation has now intensified, with National Investigation Agency (NIA) chief Sadanand Date personally reaching the valley. He is inspecting the entry and exit points used by the terrorists and overseeing the ongoing forensic and intelligence work. Visuals show the NIA team, led by J&K police officials including SSP Sandeep Chaudhary, moving toward the restricted area in Baisaran, which remains sealed off for security reasons. Media teams are being stopped at a checkpoint known as "CM Hut," beyond which no civilian or press is allowed.Today marks the ninth day of the investigation at the valley. Despite multiple efforts by media to go further, tight security protocols are in place, preventing any access due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing probe.
