Prayagraj School Timings Changed Due To Heat, Summer Vacations Announced From May 15
Due to the severe heat in Uttar Pradesh, school timings have been changed again in Prayagraj. The administration has also issued necessary guidelines to the schools and announced summer holidays.
Now, all non-council schools from classes 1 to 8, irrespective of their affiliation to CBSE, ICSE or any other board, will operate from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The new timing will also apply to all aided Hindi- and English-medium schools.
When Are The Summer Vacations In UP Schools?
Considering the heat, summer vacations will commence from May 15 in Prayagraj schools. However, summer holidays in council schools will begin from May 20. Following the instructions of the District Magistrate of Prayagraj, the Basic Education Officer (BSA) Praveen Kumar Tiwari issued the order and directed strict compliance.
Temperature Above 45 Degrees Celsius
The temperature in many districts has crossed the 45 degrees Celsius mark in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. School timings have been changed in many cities, including the capital Lucknow, to protect children from heatstroke and other heat-related ailments.
Keeping children's safety in mind, other necessary guidelines have also been issued to schools. No outdoor activities will be conducted after 9:00 AM. Also, assembly prayers will now be held inside classrooms so that children do not have to stand in the sun.
In addition, all schools have been instructed to ensure the availability of clean drinking water. It has also been made mandatory to maintain a stock of ORS and essential medicines in schools so that any emergency due to heat can be immediately dealt with.
