Nashik Kumbh Mela Prep: Minister Girish Mahajan Orders Fast-Track, Eco-Friendly Execution
Minister Girish Mahajan has directed that the upcoming Kumbh Mela should be organized in a safe, environmentally friendly, and clean manner. He emphasized that all related works must be completed on time, and the execution process should be accelerated. Mahajan, who handles the State Water Resources (Vidarbha, Tapi, and Konkan Irrigation Development Corporation) and Disaster Management portfolios, issued these instructions during a review meeting at the District Collector's Office.
Minister Mahajan reviewed the work of various departments on the occasion of Kumbh Mela in the central hall of the District Collector's Office. He was speaking at the time. On this occasion, MLA Devyani Farande, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Praveen Gedam, Inspector General of Police Dattatray Karale, Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, District Collector Jalaj Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri, Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Ashima Mittal, Superintendent Engineer of Public Works Department Arundhati Sharma, Superintendent of Police Vikram Deshmane, Assistant District Collector Omkar Pawar, Additional Superintendent of Police Aditya Mirkhelkar, Chief Executive Officer of Trimbakeshwar Municipal Council Dr. Shriya Devchakke, and heads of various departments were present.
Minister Mahajan said the Kumbh Mela was recently held in Prayagraj. "A large number of devotees attended this Kumbh Mela. In this backdrop, steps should be taken now to make the Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik-Trimbakeshwar safe and environmentally friendly. Also, care should be taken to ensure that the work of facilities being implemented for the devotees is completed on time," he directed.
On this occasion, Minister Mahajan reviewed the functioning of various departments like the Municipal Corporation, Trimbakeshwar Municipality, Police Force, Public Works Department, etc., and made various suggestions. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Gedam and District Collector Sharma gave information about the ongoing works on the occasion of Kumbh Mela.
