IAS Gargi Jain’s dream to make tribal district Chhotaudepur Sports Capital of Gujarat
IAS Gargi Jain is a 2015 batch Officer of Gujarat cadre and is currently posted as district collector of Chhotaudepur, Gujarat. Known for her determination and commitment, her dream for the district is to make Chhotaudepur the sports capital of Gujarat. “We are working on developing sports infrastructure in every taluka and at the district level,” she quoted. Chhotaudepur, a tribal-dominated district, has several specialized tribal schools. However, Jain pointed out, “We lack dedicated sports infrastructure.” Under her leadership, the focus is on bridging this gap and constructing facilities for a wide range of sports both conventional and unconventional, from Olympic-standard sites to swimming pools, lawn tennis courts, volleyball fields, football pitches, and more. "We are trying to make all types of sports infrastructure available to students" she emphasized. Additionally by the 2036 Olympics, jain aims to make future sports champions from Chhotaudepur. Sports not only plays a big role in physical well-being but also promotes teamwork and builds resilience. Through these initiatives, Jain is ensuring that the district’s youth have the tools to excel in sports and builds a stronger society.

10 IAS officers get new responsibilities in Bihar
