Ojaswini wins Chandigarh Open Ladies Tournament

Ojaswini Saraswat clinched the championship title (Grewal Salver), followed by Amreen Sandhu on the second position at the Chandigarh Open Ladies Championship Tournament, which concluded at the greens of the Chandigarh Golf Club today. A total of 54 female golfers from the tricity participated in both Gross and Nett play over 36 holes.

The Spice Challenge Bowl for Gold Division (0-20 handicap) was bagged by Goody Malhi (Nett 149) and Biren Nagi (Nett 151) ended as the runners-up. In the silver division (21-24 handicap), the Bawa Gill Trophy was claimed by Binny Bath (gross 185) and Manishtha Rao (gross 189) as runners-up. Binny Bath also clinched the Super-Senior Trophy for over 70 years age group.

Harinder Grewal (Nett 149) bagged the Rani Jagdish Kaur Cup with Kulwant Kaur (Nett 150) in second position. Neelam Gill (199) emerged the gross winner in the bronze category (25-28 handicap) followed by Jaswinder Gill (202) to take home the Meters & Instruments Trophy. The ELL ESS Trophy for Nett winner in bronze section was bagged by Neelam Garg (Nett 157) and runners-up Aneet Gill (Nett 158).

Goody Malhi and Neelam Gill claimed the first and second positions, respectively, in the Lady Governor’s Cup for Senior Ladies (60- 70 years). Amreen Sandhu bagged the junior trophy (14 – 18 years) with gross 151 followed by Raza Kaur (gross 154) at second position. Lady Captain Ashu Singh deemed it necessary to encourage the sub-junior (below 14 years) girls giving them a chance to showcase their talent. Ojaswini (149) and Rabab Kahlon (167) claimed the first and second positions, respectively, in the event. The Straightest Drive was bagged by 8-year-old Mahira Sharma, Harinder Grewal (silver division) and Sapna Maini (bronze division). The Nearest-to-Pin was bagged by Manpreet Sandhu (gold division), Roop Aulakh (silver division) and Neelam Garg (bronze division).
