Kochi-based Nuventure unveils AI Innovation Lab to power India's next-gen startups and SMEs

As part of its 15th-anniversary celebrations, Kochi-based AI development company Nuventure has taken a bold step into the future with the launch of its AI Innovation Lab. This project aims to assist start-ups and SMEs in leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence. For Nuventure COO Jayakrishnan AC, this step is a natural response to the increasingly fast-growing interest in AI in today’s industries.
“There’s an AI boom happening,” Jayakrishnan noted. “Many companies want to explore AI but often don’t know where to begin. Some think they need to approach large tech firms and that’s where we saw an opportunity to help.”
Jayakrishnan pointed out that Nuventure has had a successful stint using AI internally. “We started building an AI culture in our company around six to seven months ago,” he mentioned. “We realized that if AI can improve our processes, why not help others benefit from it too?”
The AI Innovation Lab acts as a hub to assist companies who want to embed AI in a cost-effective and functional manner. It aims to provide customized solutions, advisory services, and implementation of AI tools in real-world settings.
At the anniversary event, Nuventure showcased technology that could cut energy costs by 40% with a specific focus on water and energy industries. “We’ve been working in the water industry for about six years now,” he said. “Our IoT controllers, which we manufacture and export to the European Union, give us valuable data.”
He further explained how their IoT solutions, such as a smartwatch monitoring a heartbeat, can provide data insights. “For example, if a water motor is running 24/7 in a large apartment complex, that consumes a lot of energy. With our AI tools, we can optimize the motor’s performance, schedule its usage, and avoid unnecessary energy waste”.
Nuventure’s Managing Director & CEO, Tinu Cleatus, introduced a customisable web-based IoT platform called NuWave. Still under development, NuWave aims to provide flexibility, scalability, and the option of customizing control systems to accommodate business requirements. “We started with a mobile app for our controllers, but it was limited,” Jayakrishnan said. “With NuWave, we’ve created a platform where customers can configure their logic, like setting a water pump to run for only 10 minutes and then receive a notification once it shuts off.”
With the inauguration of the AI Innovation Lab and ongoing development of platforms such as NuWave, Nuventure is placing itself at the centre of India's digital revolution. The mission of the company is clear: to make cutting-edge technologies such as AI and IoT accessible, feasible, and effective for businesses of all sizes.
