Kedarnath Dham Yatra 2025: Temple Doors Open Amid Chants, Decorated With 108 Quintals of Flowers

The sacred Kedarnath temple has officially opened for the 2025 pilgrimage season, with the gates unlocked in a grand ceremony attended by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The opening took place amidst the powerful recitation of Vedic mantras, and the entire Kedarnath valley resonated with chants of “Har Har Mahadev,” creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere. As per temple traditions, the priests highlighted a unique belief: the daily aarti at Kedarnath is not performed until the doors of Bhairav Nath—the guardian deity of the shrine—are opened. This age-old custom reflects Bhairav Ji’s revered role as the protector of the temple.Adding to the grandeur, the temple has been beautifully adorned with 108 quintals of flowers specially brought in from Gujarat. The vibrant floral decorations have enhanced the divine ambience of the temple premises, leaving devotees in awe.To better manage the flow of pilgrims, a new token system has been introduced this year, aimed at streamlining the darshan process and reducing crowding during peak hours.Thousands of devotees gathered from across the country, many waiting through the night, to witness the divine moment when the temple doors opened—marking the beginning of the Kedarnath Dham Yatra 2025.
