Kedarnath Yatra 2025: Portals of Shri Kedarnath Dham Opened For Devotees - WATCH
Dehradun: The portals of the Shri Kedarnath Dham were opened for devotees on Friday at 07:00 am. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present at the occasion and he welcomed the devotees at the temple. The Indian Army band played devotional tunes. Flowers were also showered upon devotees from a helicopter.
The Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath arrived at Shri Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand on Thursday, May 1. It was accompanied by chants of 'Jai Baba Kedar'. Dhami, on his X handle, said that the sacred procession from Gaurikund to Kedarnath was marked by "reverence, faith, and devotion."
Doors Of Shri Kedarnath Dham Being Opened:
"Today, after the ritualistic worship at Gaurikund, the Panchmukhi idol of Baba Kedarnath reached the holy Shri Kedar Dham. When the Doli reached the temple premises, there was an atmosphere of devotion among the devotees, the entire Dham echoed with the chanting of 'Jai Baba Kedar'," CM Dhami posted on X.
Uttarakhand CM's X Posts:
Security has been tightened in the area to ensure the safety of devotees.
Notably, the doors of the revered Kedarnath Dham were closed for the winter season in November last year. The doors were closed with Vedic rituals and religious traditions amidst the chanting of Om Namah Shivay, Jai Baba Kedar, and the devotional tunes of the Indian Army band.
Meanwhile, Badrinath Dham will open on May 4. The doors of Shri Madmaheshwar Temple (the second Kedar) will open on May 21, and the third Kedar, Shri Tungnath Temple, will also reopen on May 2.
For the unversed, the Char Dham Yatra -- one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimages -- includes visits to four sacred Himalayan shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
