Over 10 Lakh Cyber Attacks On Indian Establishments After Pahalgam Terror Incident, Maharashtra Cyber Report Reveals
Mumbai: In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, more than 10 lakh cyber attacks were launched on Indian establishments, targeting critical sectors like defence, education, telecommunications, and transportation, according to a report by Maharashtra Cyber.
The report reveals that the majority of these cyber attacks originated from Pakistan, with several also traced back to Bangladesh, Morocco, and Middle Eastern countries. Hackers attempted to steal sensitive data and engage in espionage with the intent to disrupt national security.
Maharashtra Cyber authorities have confirmed that these coordinated attacks were aimed at exploiting institutional vulnerabilities to gather intelligence and potentially orchestrate sabotage. Security protocols have since been tightened, and central agencies have been alerted to monitor further threats.
