Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar Founder and Chairman Nims University Leads India’s Global Health Vision as NIMS University Hosts World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2025

New Delhi: The World Health Summit Regional Meeting 2025 concluded on a historic note at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar, International President of the World Health Summit and Founder & Chairperson of NIMS University, at the helm of this landmark initiative. This marked India’s first time hosting the prestigious global platform, reinforcing its growing leadership in global health equity, innovation, and collaboration.

Spanning three days, the mega event welcomed 5,000+ delegates from 54 countries, featured 950+ speakers, and hosted 160+ expert-led sessions, in partnership with 90+ global institutions such as WHO SEARO, UNICEF, ADB, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Siemens Healthineers.

Delivering the inaugural address, Prof. Tomar praised the bold vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, whose flagship initiative Ayushman Bharat he described as a movement for health dignity and protection.

“Ayushman Bharat is transforming access to care for millions of Indian families with ₹5 lakh annual health coverage. It exemplifies the power of inclusive and compassionate governance,” Prof. Tomar said.

He also acknowledged the unwavering support of Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Health Minister Shri JP Nadda, who have driven groundbreaking reforms in healthcare infrastructure and accessibility.
