Hours after Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani makes big statement at WAVES 2025, says ‘Amar….’

Draped in peach-pink saree, Nita Ambani commanded attention as she arrived at the ongoing World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 to address the gathering as the keynote speaker. She presented an insightful speech on “Taking Indian Culture to the World” on the second day of WAVES being held at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC), Mumbai. For someone who is personally rooted in culture, traditions and values the essence of every art form and artists, she emphasised how Indian scape is about “sacred tradition” and “modern dynamisim”.

After Mukesh Ambani addressed the gathering on the first day, Mrs Ambani took up the helm for the second day where culture, traditions took the front seat. Reflecting on India’s rich history, Nita Ambani noted that our nation is the origin of the word ‘OM’ and is home to Sanskrit, which forms the basis for many languages worldwide. “India is the origin of OM, the sound of the birth of our universe, the birthplace of zero, shunya, the beginning of the infinite, the home of Sanskrit that gave the world language. The land of Yoga and Ayurveda, the pioneer in science and philosophy, from Aryabhatta’s astronomical calculations to Adi Shankaracharya’s Advaita Vedanta, the beacon of arts and literature, from our classical music and dance forms to the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. We are the very cradle of civilisation,” said Nita Ambani.

Nita Ambani Hails Indian Culture and Storytelling

Addressing the gathering the businesswoman in her speech talked about India as  “timeless civilisation” that has gifted humanity and the world with the ideals of truth, non-violence, unity, and peace. Highlighting the power of Indian storytelling she big statements, stating “Let our Amar Chitra Kathas be the next Harry Potters. Let our epics – Ramayana and Mahabharata – light up the silver screens of the world. Let our stories inspire generations to come … because culture is not just a reflection of who we are. It is, in fact, a powerful tool to shape who we become,” she said at the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025.

Calling herself a dreamer and a passionate artist, she added, “To every artist, animator, writer, designer, musician, filmmaker, policymaker, I speak to you as storytellers of India’s tomorrow… as modern ambassadors of India’s heritage. I want to remind you – you’re not just telling the story, you ARE the story”.

WAVES 2025, one of the most anticipated entertainment events of the year, officially began on May 1 in Mumbai. Organized by the Government of India, this marks the first edition of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit, aimed at celebrating and showcasing the country’s vibrant media and entertainment landscape.

Spanning four days—from May 1 to May 4—the summit brings together some of the biggest names in the industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Hema Malini, Mohanlal, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, SS Rajamouli, Chiranjeevi, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, among others. The event is being held at the Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex.
