CRPF To Take Action Against Jawan From Kashmir For Marrying Pakistani Woman Without Permission

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is set to initiate disciplinary action against Munir Khan, a jawan from Kashmir, who married a Pakistani woman named Minal Khan earlier this year. According to reports, Munir had submitted a request seeking official permission from his department to marry Minal. However, before the CRPF headquarters could issue a decision, he married in March, and Minal subsequently came to India.

The Indian government, after the attack in Pahalgam, suspended the visa services for Pakistani citizens. Due to which, many Pakistani citizens received notices to leave India. In one of such case, the story of Minal Khan has come to light.

Khan said that she waited to get the visa for last nine years. She had also completed the necessary process for LTV (Long Term Visa), but due to the sudden decision of the government, her future is in limbo.

"She came to India on a visitor visa and then applied for a long-term visa. ...After the Pahalgam attack, in the order issued by the Indian govt, two types of people were exempted, one is diplomatic visa holders and the second is long-term visa holders," Minal's lawyer Ankur Sharma told ANI.

"She had appeared for an interview for a long-term visa, positive recommendations were sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs to give her a long-term visa. Meanwhile, the Pahalgam attack happened, and she didn't have a long-term visa, so she was sent to the Attari border...a case was filed in the J&K High Court, and the hearing took place," he further added.

Meanwhile, Minal has got relief due to a court order. Khan had boarded the bus of deportees and reached the Attari-Wagah border, but her lawyer told her about the last-minute court relief. As she had reached the Attari-Wagah border to cross over, her lawyer called to inform that they had secured a  court stay on her deportation to Pakistan.

"The Pahalgam attack happened, and she didn't have a long-term visa, so she was sent to Attari border...a case was filed in the J&K High Court, and the hearing took place, the court passed an interim order...after that, she was sent back to Jammu. She reached Jammu yesterday around 3am..," Sharma told ANI.
