The Uttar Pradesh government will now expand infrastructure and civic amenities like Noida and Gurugram in 59 districts of the state on the basis of GIS (Geographical Information System) technology. It is believed that monitoring of schemes will be easy with GIS technology.
The Uttar Pradesh government has prepared a GIS (Geographical Information System) based master plan for 59 cities. This will help in the development of cities in a scientific and data-based manner.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved the modernization of 35 cities in the first phase. The remaining cities will be included in the scheme soon.
Modern facilities will be developed in many cities including Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Mathura, Prayagraj and Aligarh. Infrastructure and civic services will be developed in these cities.
In these cities, traffic chaos will be controlled with the help of smart traffic management system. Also, effective arrangements will be made for drainage of rainwater so that the roads remain in good condition and traffic is not affected even during rainy days.
Developing cities on the basis of GIS and making them hi-tech will stop uncontrolled and disorganized urban expansion. The direction of all development work will be decided in advance, which will make cities well planned.
Green belts will be created in these cities and trees will be planted on a large scale. This will reduce pollution and maintain environmental balance. The public transport system will be made more convenient and safe. This will make it easier for citizens to travel anywhere.
This list includes cities like Ayodhya, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Mathura, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Ghazipur, Ramnagar, Moradabad, Firozabad, Shahjahanpur and Muzaffarnagar. Developing these cities using GIS technology will provide employment to thousands of people in the service sector. Direct and indirect employment opportunities will increase rapidly.
