Afraid of India, Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir and PM Shehbaz Sharif seek help from their enemy…, plan is to…
New Delhi: The current situation in Pakistan is pointing towards a dramatic shift in political equations. Amidst rising tensions and potential military responses following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have sought help from imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to sources, four former military officials have been sent to Imran Khan to persuade him to convince the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to stop opposing Asim Munir and to hold back protests in Sindh. After the Pulwama attack in 2019, then-PM Imran Khan removed ISI Chief Asim Munir before the end of his term. This was the first time in the history of the ISI. Since then, the relationship between Asim Munir and Imran Khan has been extremely strained.
It is believed that due to this enmity, Asim Munir devised a strategy to send Imran to jail. Now, the same Asim Munir is forced to seek assistance from Imran Khan.
After the Pahalgam attack, India’s strong political and military signals have caused a stir in Pakistan’s internal politics. The siren system, bunker construction, and red alert in areas like Sindh, Karachi, and Lahore have instilled fear in the public. The Pakistan government fears that a revolt could erupt within the country, especially from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was (PTI) supporters and movements in Sindh. Therefore, Asim Munir and Shahbaz Sharif have chosen to pacify Imran Khan in order to quell the ongoing protests in the country.
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, India has taken strict action against Pakistan. The government has nullified the Indus Waters Treaty. Since then, Pakistani leaders have been making continuous statements. They are haunted by the fear that India could attack them at any moment.
