Man arrested in alleged murder of woman doctor in Hisar

The Hisar police have arrested Udesh Yadav, a clerk, in connection with the alleged murder of 25-year-old Dr Bhavna Yadav from Rajasthan. Udesh had been absconding since the young doctor’s mysterious death from burn injuries.

District police spokesperson Vikas confirmed the arrest, stating that Udesh would be produced in a local court.

Dr Bhavna was initially admitted to a hospital in Hisar with burn injuries and was later shifted to a medical facility in Rajasthan, where she succumbed. Following her death, Udesh — considered the prime suspect —went missing, prompting a manhunt by the police.

Just before news of his arrest broke, a video of Udesh’s wife surfaced on social media in which she claimed her husband was innocent and would surrender soon. “He is innocent and was frightened. That’s why he was avoiding arrest,” she said.

She also said she had handed over her WhatsApp chat records with Dr Bhavna to the local police and administration, hoping it would help clarify the circumstances.

The case was initially registered as a zero FIR in Rajasthan based on a complaint filed by Dr Bhavna’s mother, Gayatri Devi. The case was later transferred to Hisar for investigation.

Police officials have not yet disclosed further details regarding the evidence collected or the motive under investigation.
