Admissions open at Nauni horticulture & forestry varsity
Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (UHF), Nauni, has announced the commencement of admissions for its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2025-26.
Prospective students keen on exploring diverse fields such as horticulture, forestry, natural farming, biotechnology, food technology and agri-business can apply entirely online via the university website www.yspuniversity.ac.in.
In undergraduate programmes, the university is offering BSc (Hons) horticulture and BSc (Hons) forestry at its main campus and at the Colleges of Horticulture and Forestry (COH&F), Neri and Thunag. In the main campus, the students have also been given the option to study BSc agri (Hons) natural farming and BTech food technology (self-financing) at the main campus. The university is also offering BTech biotechnology at the COH&F, Neri.
The university is also offering MSc in its College of Horticulture and College of Forestry located at the main campus at Nauni and Neri. The specialisations offered in horticulture are entomology, floriculture and landscaping, food processing and technology, fruit science, molecular biology and biotechnology, plant pathology; spices, plantation and medicinal and aromatic crops; post-harvest management, seed science and technology and vegetable science. Agri-business management is also open for admission .
The specializations offered for MSc in forestry are agricultural economics, agricultural extension education, agricultural statistics, biochemistry, environmental science, forest biology and tree improvement, forest products and utilisation, forest resource management, microbiology, plant physiology, silviculture and Agroforestry and Soil Science.
The last date for receipt of online applications for the UG programmes for normal seats is May 31 and June 30 for self-financing seats. The last date for online application for MSc programmes is June 16. Entrance exam of the UG and PG programmes would be held on June 15 and July 5, respectively.
The result of UG entrance test will be declared on June 25 while the result of PG programme will be declared on July 11. The list of candidates for UG self-financing seats will be displayed on July 7. The UG entrance test will be conducted at Solan, Hamirpur, Sundernagar, Palampur and Rampur.
Admissions to UG seats would be done on the basis of marks obtained in UG entrance test. Whereas the merit of marks obtained in Class XII in four subjects- English, physics, chemistry and biology/ Mathematics will be considered for admission to UG self-financing seats. Admissions to PG programmes will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the PG entrance test. An applicant can apply for both normal and self-financing seats.
