Remove bottlenecks to expedite public welfare projects: Sirmaur DC to HODs

After assuming charge, Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Verma, convened a high-level coordination meeting with all heads of departments (HODs) in Nahan on Thursday.

The objective of the meeting was to review the ongoing development works and strengthen interdepartmental collaboration to ensure effective implementation of government schemes across the district.

DC Verma underscored the importance of synergised efforts among various departments to accelerate the pace of development in the region. She urged officials to work in close coordination, with a unified vision, to resolve bottlenecks and expedite the execution of public welfare projects.

“The district administration’s primary objective is to ensure that benefits of government schemes and developmental initiatives reach every citizen in a timely and efficient manner,” said the DC.

She said the state government had launched several welfare and infrastructure programmes aimed at uplifting rural and urban communities alike and it was the responsibility of all departments to ensure their proper implementation on the ground.

The DC emphasised timely completion of development works, citing that unnecessary delays not only hinder progress but also affect public trust in governance. She directed all department heads to maintain transparency in execution and ensure regular monitoring and reporting of projects.

In a bid to foster a transparent and responsive administrative setup, DC Verma also invited HODs to share challenges they are facing in the execution of their duties. Several officers raised issues pertaining to manpower shortages, budget allocations, logistical constraints and inter-departmental coordination.

During the session, key departments including public works, health, education, agriculture, rural development and social welfare gave brief presentations on the status of ongoing projects and future action plans.
